Conté Pastel Pencil

Conté Pastel Pencils offer the artist an excellent range of colours to be used either with one another or in conjunction with soft pastel, particularly for detail work. The density of the lead is slightly harder in composition than soft pastel, allowing it to be sharpened with a traditional pencil sharpener (preferably suited specifically to coloured pencil) preventing it from crumbling. The fine lead allows for a smooth application and can be manipulated and blended using a stump or tortillon. Similarly to when using soft pastel, fixative must be applied when an artwork is complete to adhere the pencil to the paper surface and avoid smearing or movement.
