Khadi Tsasho Bhutanese Paper 100g/m2 56 x 76cm

Khadi Papers, based in the UK, have their own papermill just outside the village of Tarihal, in Karnataka, South India, producing cotton rag papers. They import some of the very finest Himalayan papers from Nepal and Bhutan. In the early 1980s, Khadi were the first to introduce Indian handmade papers to artists and designers in Europe and the US. Coming from an art school background, they were interested in paper as an artists' material and this remains the focus of what they do.

Handmade papers are made sheet by sheet, not in a continuous roll. Tsasho paper is made from the bark of de-nar on a screen of split bamboo giving a laid pattern. Traditionally Tsasho - from the Tashigang district in Eastern Bhutan - is used in Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries for manuscripts and wood cut prints.

*Please note, there is a minimum order of 5 sheets of any paper under the value of £5 per sheet.
