The Art Shop Ultimate Botanical Starter Kit

We have assembled a selection of kits for coloured pencil botanical illustration. We were inpressed with the very informative and inspiring book 'Botanical Painting with Coloured pencils' by the illustrator Ann Swan, an essential for beginners.
'An invaluable book for all botanical artists wanting to try this medium'- Society of Botanical Illustrators.

The canvas roll makes your kit very portable.

Faber Castell Polychromos Coloured Pencils are very good quality, oil based pencils with 3.8mm leads that hold their point well and are essential for fine detailed work. Available in 120 colours, they are pigment rich in colour and are very blendable. It is a good idea to buy your pencils loose rather than in a tin of 12 or 18, and we have made the selection for you. As you progress, you will want to add to to your palette.

12 coloured greys are included- 6 greys (cold blues) and 6 greys (warm reds).

This has everything. Contains everything in Kit No 1 plus Fabriano Classico 5 Fat pad 300gsm/140lb Hot Press A4, and the book 'Botanical Painting with Coloured pencils' by Ann Swan

The A4 pad of Fabriano Classico 5 Hot Pressed paper 300gsm/140lb paper has 25 sheets. It is acid free so that work can be kept for years with out discolouration. Which side do you work on? Hot pressed paper is made in a mould. One side has a clear impression of the mesh, which is not a sympathetic surface for coloured pencils. Use the other side.
